Lost People by Margaret Elphinstone
This remarkable novella is set in a fragmented world where war has destroyed
almost everything recognisable as civilisation, where societal norms and structures have collapsed and those left behind are struggling to understand the destruction and trauma of the past and find ways to continue living. Lost People offers hope for the future regeneration of the natural world and the human race, through the compelling story of a child growing up in a world where many have suffered trauma and loss.
Margaret Elphinstone spent her working life in Scotland, is an Emeritus Professor at Strathclyde University, and an Honorary Fellow of the Association of Scottish Literary Studies. She believes that literature has a crucial role to play in how we address environmental crisis and our increasingly dystopic world.
