Black and British: A Forgotten History by David Olusoga

Black and British is a fascinating look back at the history of African and African-Caribbean people in the UK. With lots seeming to believe that the history of Black Britons began with the Windrush generation, this book provides a fascinating insight into the long and varied history dating back to the Romans. Touching on a wide range of subjects from slavery to the court of Henry VIII to the Battle of Trafalgar this book fills in many gaps in popular knowledge. Well researched and engagingly written, a must read for anyone wanting to know more about this important and often overlooked part of British history.
